Glimmers

I've been collecting quotes since I was 15, but it wasn't until last year, as I was navigating my creative path amidst the beautiful and unpredictable rhythm of young children, that I started experimenting with hand-lettering again. The last time I really delved into lettering was back in high school! I've been soaking up a lot of inspiring words from authors like Mira Lee Patel, Morgan Harper Nichols, and Yung Pueblo. Their insights moved me deeply, and I felt inspired to really meditate on these truths, to embody them more fully through art. Creating these pieces has been a wonderful encouragement for me to embrace my authentic self, free from conditioning or guilt, and with greater trust and confidence.

So, it felt completely natural to explore a new medium: watercolor. It's something I'd wanted to try for ages but kept putting off. Watercolors are so beautiful on their own—they create these unpredictable, gorgeous textures and images. You can guide them, but the inherent "messiness" of watercolors is actually a gift. It's about responding to what unfolds on the page, finding beauty in the unexpected, and learning to let go and be open to possibilities without rigid planning.

For me, these "Glimmers" are probably the most spontaneous artistic expression I've found. They're a direct reflection of my journey, and I hope they resonate with you too!
